Meeting My Dream

MEETING MY DREAM

Oh my ! Oh my ! Oh my ! She just walked by me
She was the cool breeze that filled life into me
Her flashing eyes told a thousand words without a single utterance
Her drifting hairs stole the wind and made me breathless
Oh Lord ! Just never let this moment pass me
This is the only moment I want to live in.

Oh my ! Oh my! Oh my! Her eyes just caught my glancing eyes
I stole a thousand inspirations from the deep seas of her eyes
But friends, but friends, she caught me.
And her amazed eyes are asking a thousand questions
My eyes stood spellbound and they forgot the decencies of the world
And I said to myself this is the eyes I want to stare till eternity

Oh my ! Oh my! Oh my! Her slender soft fair hands are dancing to my stubbornness
Her beautiful golden ring is playing with the sunlight
It’s a day it’s a night it’s a day and then again it’s a night
The sun is only a diamond on her ring
Her beautiful fingers ask a thousand questions with only a few rotations
I still remain perplexed at the absolute beauty of the moment
And Oh Lord! Is it my judgment day
For I believe to be away from her is the worst punishment for me.

Oh my! Oh my! Oh my! She is walking onto me
My heart jumps with my legs deep on the ground
I feel the deep pain of running away
But I stood there, ready to face a small punishment for my most beautiful mistake
My body getting stiff to face any kind of hurting
Alas ! I can smell the exquisite and feel the paradise
Oh Lord ! Still this moment even if it means a lifetime of pain for me
Oh Lord ! this is the peace before the war , this is the dusk before night.

Oh my ! Oh my ! Oh my ! what a delightful surprise
My heart stops jumping and it feels the peace of the ocean
My body becomes cold and I can feel my mind quake in amazement
My eyes close and try to imagine myself in the center of a garden of roses
The sky is smiling at me and the sun is focusing only on me
Oh Lord ! Thank you for her lips are the most soft that touched my cheek ever
Alas ! I meet my dream. Alas! I get lucky and get hurt deeper than I ever expected.

THE CIRCLE OF UNQUENCHABLE THIRST

THE CIRCLE OF UNQUENCHABLE THIRST

The fragments of industrialization,
The serenity of nature,
The chaos of embroiled noises,
The uncontrolled vengeance of the unsatisfied souls,
The soothing and smoothing drift of rurals,
The celtic callings of the forgotten greens,
The peace of chaotic minds and the limitless dreams of the innocents,
Thus meet at the skillful rhythms of the urban
Or at the continuous colourful chores of the rural.

The memories of the lifes left behind,
The voices and sounds of the farewell song,
The words of final advice by the village elders,
The still faces of the dearest ones.
Still they call the heart to go back to the rurals,
But the dreams never lets one to sleep in calm.

The overburdened and overburnt heart of a city soul,
The chaotic and noisy gongs of daily askings,
The vacuum of friendliness and socialisation,
The distant sound of a heartful and soulful laugh,
The demand for superhuman performance,
Forces the life to cry for independence and rural peace,
But the dead habit of lifelessness doesnt open its clutches.

Life as we know it
Is neither the cries of the city souls
Nor the manhattan aspires of a rural
It is just the smile of a battered soul
It is just the balance of reality and fantasy
It is just the circle of unquenchable thirst of human life.

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE WORLD ECONOMY

What happened to the world economy after 2008.
First it was the American mortgage crisis.
We hadn't come out of it, the European Debt crisis (ireland, greece, ... now spain) started.
That wasnt enough :-(
India is suffering from fiscal deficit, inflation, a weak currency, .......
Rise up Mr. Finance Minister....

I remember in 2008 an article was published in NYT where MBA Finance graduates were thrashed and downgraded... There was a lot of repercussion of this article.. Some geniuses in India used their minuscule interpretation of the article by wiping the MBA Finance grads/openings from the public sector and almost from the private sector....

But since then the situation has worsened, instead of improving ... I think the time has come to call back the real disaster-managers...the MBA Finance grads... they know how to run the show... they may not know economics fully, accounting fully, psychology fully,.... but they know JUGAAD. Thats what is required and thats what runs the world. Remember  "NOTHING IS PERFECT."

I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul.

Many a times the theme of movies are based on books, but "Invictus," I think is based on a poem by the same name. The movie is very simple but it sends a very strong message. But I believe the poem is much stronger. This poem is scripted by William Ernest Henley. The poem reflects the problems he had to face in his life.

He was Born in Gloucester, England, poet, editor, and critic William Ernest Henley was educated at Crypt Grammar School, where he studied with the poet T.E. Brown, and the University of St. Andrews. His father was a struggling bookseller who died when Henley was a teenager. At age 12 Henley was diagnosed with tubercular arthritis that necessitated the amputation of one of his legs just below the knee; the other foot was saved only through a radical surgery performed by Joseph Lister. As he healed in the infirmary, Henley began to write poems, including “Invictus,” which concludes with the oft-referenced lines “I am the master of my fate; / I am the captain of my soul.” Henley’s poems often engage themes of inner strength and perseverance.

His life certainly inspired me as it was no different from mine. At every darkest moment of my life I kept on saying “I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soul.” These feelings could not have been more beautifully rhymed.

Invictus

BY WILLIAM ERNEST HENLEY
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul.

Style of a Successful Leader

Ever wandered what is it in Dhoni that makes him the midas of modern cricket ? Is it his strong character or his style of leading from the front?

But I think there is a simple path that a leader has to follow to be a successful one. (give what name to it u may like)

First of all a leader has to be someone who others can see as an idol. He has to be good in the work that the group is doing. ( playing cricket, composing songs, etc)

Second, a leader has to be a good motivator. He should understand the problems of his followers and should be able to give them hope and courage. He should not scold them always. He should save his scolds for the worst of situations. He should guide his teammates through problems.

Third, he should be courageous and bold, so that he can take bold decisions when required.

Fourth, he should be down-to-earth.

Fifth, he should learn to share prizes/awards(and spotlight) with his teammates.

Sixth, he should always keep it in mind that it is the team that makes him, and not the other way.

These characteristics will keep on increasing as the leader matures. Some of these characteristics are situational.

The greatest of leaders is "Lord Krishna" who guided the Pandavas to victory in Kurukshetra and motivated Arjuna to do his duties. Well we cannot be the Purushottam but we can try to be a leader who is also a human being.

Is India moving towards a financial crisis

Recent reports and comments by experts suggest thats true. Suddenly the global experts realized that India has high inflation and high trade & fiscal deficit. Fundamentally these factors r not good for d economy but were d global experts blind till now. Lets wait and see.

The Spirit of Rourkela

Just now somebody is rising

In the city of Rourkela

Just now somebody is fighting the dusty ashes of melted rocks

Just now somebody is cheating or getting cheated in the streets of Plant site

Just now somebody is feeding the mouth of blast furnace with his household anger

Just now somebody is getting robbed in the presence of constabularies-demons

Just now somebody is rising

In the city of Rourkela

Just now somebody is feeling a hero in the presence of jokers

Just now somebody is staring at the forever-incomplete buildings of BPUT

Just now somebody is selling Rourkela for green notes and still representing the people

Just now somebody is stepping on hellroad even if a flyover can carry him across the park

Just now somebody is rising

In the city of Rourkela

Just now somebody is mocking at the zenith of missionary education

Just now somebody is smelling the deads and diseased in the walls of IGH

Just now somebody is getting drowned in the mugs of clubs and lounges

Just now somebody is jetting and disrespecting in the overrated streets of Koelnagar

Just now somebody is rising

In the city of Rourkela

Just now somebody is looting Rourkela and construction his palace in CivilTownship

Just now somebody is corrupting in the name of paving a two lane road

Just now somebody is seeing the youth with eyes of savageness and hunger

Just now somebody is misguiding the innocence into the parched roads of lifelong struggle

Just now somebody has risen

In the city of Rourkela

Just now somebody is punishing the cheaters in the streets of Plantsite

Just now somebody is bleeding the robbers and the constabularies-demons

Just now somebody is calming the households with flowers of peace and love

Just now somebody is blowing away the ashes of asthma and breathlessness

Just now somebody has risen

In the city of Rourkela

Just now somebody is slapping the king of Jokers and stitching his lips

Just now somebody is blocking the road in front of the park to save the life of idiots

Just now somebody is giving nightmares to the contactors of BPUT buildings

Just now somebody is voting against the takers of green notes and stoning them to death

Just now somebody has risen

In the city of Rourkela

Just now somebody is spitting on the mockers of good education

Just now somebody is sending angels to the deathly walls of The Hospital

Just now somebody is bringing fists to the uncontrollable youth at Koelnagar

Just now somebody is drowning the clubs and lounges in the gentlest of waters

Just now somebody has risen

In the city of Rourkela

Just now somebody is creating two lanes in the bodies of the two-lane-corruptors

Just now somebody is throwing out the looters and opening the palace to the deservers

Just now somebody is mining out the eyes of ever-hunger youth-hawks

Just now somebody is scooping the misguiders to the darkest part of the forest to quench the hunger of carnivores

Just now Somebody has risen

In the city of Rourkela

India wins World Cup 2011 - I win too

A boy, 12 years old, sitting on the terrace with his head down. He is sad and insulted, not because of himself but because of the Indian Cricket Team. The taunts he suffered because of them still howl in his ears. "Dont watch the match they are going to lose. They are losers." He is just waiting for the tears to roll down. But they dont. The tears take the form of anger and he rises to practise again. He bowls and probably the fastest, it breaks one of the flower pots. He continues to practise with the hope that one day he will no more have to get insulted, with the hope that one day the Indian Cricket Team will win.

Years passed on and every time the Indian Team lost, he lost a part of his life. He waited and slowly he lost the interest in cricket and a loss for the Indian team meant nothing to him. But still in his heart of hearts he wanted India to win and give a befitting reply to his childhood howls.

This Saturday not only the Indian Cricket Team won the World Cup but they also gave a befitting reply to his childhood howlers. Today the small child inside him no more has to carry the burden of losses. The child inside him is happy and satisfied. Today he can face his childhood taunts and they can "rest in peace" for ever.

no more "culture" in "agriculture"

Was just now viewing a debate in CNN-IBN on "green revolution through budget." I remember, in 2008, I attended a presentation by Prof. Som Karam Chetty where he mentioned, using technology to help agriculture. He mentioned about the use of technology in Supply Chain Management and production of agricultural products. Today after 3 years these thoughts emerge in the great mind of our economists.

Now the government is thinking about inviting FDI in retail. But is there a guarantee that foreign companies will give good prices to the farmers, not ask premium price from customers and not export the products when there is scarcity. The introduction of private players in distribution of agricultural products has itself increased the price of food items at retail outlets. These high benefits are not passed onto the farmers.

But a short cut of improving the storage and distribution of food items is to introduce FDI in retail. The FDIs have better technology of storage and efficient methods of reducing the cost of production. So the Indian companies and the government can learn a lot from them.

Both the options have some negatives and some positives. So the government will have to think of an innovative decision. It will have to learn the effective and efficient methods of FDIs without affecting the farmers and the customers, negatively.

There are many innovative ideas to solve this problem... Hope u can get some !!
