Style of a Successful Leader

Ever wandered what is it in Dhoni that makes him the midas of modern cricket ? Is it his strong character or his style of leading from the front?

But I think there is a simple path that a leader has to follow to be a successful one. (give what name to it u may like)

First of all a leader has to be someone who others can see as an idol. He has to be good in the work that the group is doing. ( playing cricket, composing songs, etc)

Second, a leader has to be a good motivator. He should understand the problems of his followers and should be able to give them hope and courage. He should not scold them always. He should save his scolds for the worst of situations. He should guide his teammates through problems.

Third, he should be courageous and bold, so that he can take bold decisions when required.

Fourth, he should be down-to-earth.

Fifth, he should learn to share prizes/awards(and spotlight) with his teammates.

Sixth, he should always keep it in mind that it is the team that makes him, and not the other way.

These characteristics will keep on increasing as the leader matures. Some of these characteristics are situational.

The greatest of leaders is "Lord Krishna" who guided the Pandavas to victory in Kurukshetra and motivated Arjuna to do his duties. Well we cannot be the Purushottam but we can try to be a leader who is also a human being.
